Brenton and I both attended Burdine Elem. as did all my children and even my mother. I graduated from Pound High School and then returned to Jenkins to raise our family. I was employed at the Burdine Elem. for 32 years as school secretary.
All my children graduated from Jenkins High School and were all active in sports. Jeff in football, basketball and track, Robbie in football, basketball and track and Kristi in basketball, track and softball. My boys attended Morehead State and Kristi graduated from Marshall University. In her last year there on a basketball scholarship, she participated in the Women's NCAA tournament in Boulder, CO. She is now a KY State Trooper on special detail as security for the govenor of KY. Robbie lives in Jenkins and is married to Sherry Hall. They have two children Katelyn & Brenton Andrew. We lost Jeff in Sept. 2008 to a heart attack. He was married to Sherry Shepherd and had one son, Koty. I lost Brenton in May 2007. I retired from the school system in May 2008. I enjoy volunteering at the school and I am on various organizations. This is my first year as a member of the Jenkins Ind. Schoolboard and it has been very eye opening but enjoyable.
